The Parish, while small in size, had vision and leadership that was willing to work to create a road map for the future…that unlike many parishes was fulfilled in one phase.
High on a hill overlooking the city of El Paso and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, the 5-acre site was built all at once with over 26,000 sq. ft. of space. The complex includes a 350 seat Church Temple, Chapel, Baptistry, Administration Center, Educational Academy, Small Fireside Hall, a Large Hall and banquet-sized kitchen. The Church also saw the wisdom of including the iconography in the great dome. Completed in October 2003, the masonry, clay tile, copper, and desert-colored stucco complex has become an instant community landmark. Following the completion of St George, the local Islamic community built a mosque on a neighboring parcel creating a peaceful, harmonious Oasis of God’s Love and presence.
