Casper WY

Established in 1959, Central Wyoming Counseling Center (CWCC) is a private, non-profit community mental health and substance abuse center. CWCC is located in Casper, a city with a population of over 50,000. This location, in the central part of Wyoming, allows for many recreational opportunities, including skiing, camping, backpacking, fishing, hiking, and other activities.

CJK developed the design of this multifaceted counseling center with a friendly, warm and inviting message in mind. Reflective of the simple, rustic and recreational heritage, the design evokes those traditions within a refined exterior that uses local materials such as pine trusses and river rock walls. The interior is a light-filled and peaceful oasis with rich creams and warm wood details, indirect lighting and plenty of natural light. The spaces range from office and administrative spaces to meeting and counseling rooms both large and small to temporary bedroom suites for short term stay. These features augment the many treatments and programs including Outpatient Mental Health and Substance Abuse Program, a comprehensive Substance Abuse Center, Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program and Therapeutic Family Care.
